PARTNER Model
The PARTNER model is a guideline for researchers to partner with people with lived experience when preparing and delivering conference presentations. This partnership helps researchers move beyond just informing people with lived experience and genuinely involves, collaborates with, and empowers them in gerontological research. The model is built around seven tenets, and each provides strategies for the phases before, during, and after an academic conference.
Preparedness Measure
The Preparedness Measure is a self-report questionnaire designed to assess how prepared people feel to care for someone living with dementia. It captures three distinct dimensions of preparedness: Confidence and Psychological Readiness, Care Skills and Insights, and Personal Circumstances and Related Capacity. The measure is designed for researchers, clinicians, and community organizations to identify where caregivers need more support before or during the caregiving journey, and how prepared adults may be more generally before taking on caregiving roles. We are currently validating this measure with our Preparedness for Caregiving project. Read more about this project here. Access the tool by clicking below.
